
I am posting a selection of images of my art work from different series. These images correspond to new paintings as well as old ones.
JORGE POSADA UPDATED RESUME AND BIOGRAPHY
His academic training began in his country, Colombia, with studies in painting, printmaking and sculpture at the University of Antioquia in his native city Medellin and continued in New York at the Lower East Side Print Shop, where he was a recipient of a seven years scholarship to study, research and creates several series of prints. He also completed a special workshop of lighting and sound at La Guardia Community College.
Recipient of one of the most important awards in visual arts in Colombia at the Young Art Salon at the Museo de Antioquia, where he was awarded the first prize, he has exhibited internationally as well as in the USA where he also received a Honorable Mention at “Expresiones Hispanas “, a Hispanic Art tour. His artwork has been reviewed extensible in newspapers as well as art magazines in the USA and abroad and was feature in a documentary at Channel Thirteen in the USA called “ The New Immigrants”
In 2004 he was selected among several artist to create and complete a 1.500 square feet mural for the Ritz Theater in Elizabeth New Jersey, USA, titled: “Homage to the Arts” His artwork is in mayor private and public art collections in Colombia, USA, Mexico, Japan and Europe.
Jorge Posada is currently working in a series of paintings as a homage to Peter Paul Rubens and Théodore Géricault. At the conclusion of the project, a traveling exhibition will be shown in Rotterdam, Brussels and New York.
JORGE POSADA
Painter, sculptor, printmaker, video artist born in Colombia and living and working in the United States for the last 25 years. He lives in Manhattan and has his studio in Long island City where he is dedicated full time to his Art work.
